Be A Part of the Yoga Revolution Worldwide
Yoga had its
origins in India over five thousand years ago. Yoga is generally believed to be
the intermingling of human mind, body and spirit. It can be seen that out of
the three only the human body is easily recognizable and tangible whereas mind
and spirit are more intangible and abstract.
In the recent
past there is a sudden spurt in the interest for Yoga evidently due to United
Nations declaring 21st June each year as International day of Yoga.
The spurt in interest for yoga the world over has created a huge demand for
Yoga practitioners who could guide the new yoga enthusiasts to practice yoga.
Even before
spurt in demand, in the year 2006, Yogi Abhay had established Oceanic Yoga as a
Yoga school to conduct perhaps the first Yoga
teacher training course in India in the picturesque state of Goa in western
India.
Oceanic Yoga’s
vision is to train hundreds of Yoga teachers who in turn could impart Yoga
training to other teachers interested in teaching yoga. By conducting Yoga
teacher training courses in Goa, Oceanic Yoga is attempting to create a huge
body of yoga teachers not only in India but all over the world so as to enable
thousands of people to derive benefit from the practice of yoga.
Yogi Abhay’s foresight
in establishing Oceanic Yoga in 2006 is proving to be beneficial because it is
well poised to leverage the sudden spurt in demand for Yoga teachers. In order
to give credence to the efficacy of training imparted at Oceanic Yoga, the
school registered itself under the aegis of Yoga Alliance to run the Yoga
School.
Yoga Alliance®,
a nonprofit association representing the yoga community, was set up in order to
systematize the practice of Yoga. Yoga Alliance’s mission is to promote and
support the integrity and diversity of the teaching of yoga. Yoga Alliance
provides universal access to safe yoga practices, upholds the worldwide growth
of yoga through education and community, and encourages safe yoga instruction
by adopting quantitative standards.
Armed with
experienced yoga teachers certified by Yoga Alliance and registered as E-RYT200
or RYT500 instructors qualified to teach yoga for either 200 hours or 500
hours, Oceanic Yoga developed a yoga training program that is arguably among
the best yoga teacher training programs
in the world. Any student undergoing training at Oceanic Yoga will receive
a certificate which empowers the student to conduct yoga teacher training
programs anywhere in the world.
